As a way to keep track of our word wall words, I've written them onto stars nd taped them to Popsicle sticks. I use them as flash cards during circle time to review. I also use them when we read out of big books. When we come to the word of the week we're working on, I have a student point to the word with the matching star. I also use these when playing musical sight words.
