Addition

A way to help my students learn addition I have them use 2 colors to distinguish parts of the addition sentence. For their homework I underlined and filled in one part with green and underlined the blank part purple. The students knew to make the number given of green dots and then make how ever more needed purple dots to fill in the missing part. Having the 2 colors helped them to see the two parts needed to get the final answer.
